We've been around for 10 years, but our first Capitol Day occurred in January of 2008. It was a spur of the moment rally for legislation we needed to keep our schools open.  Because of a lawsuit filed by the teachers' union (WEAC), all virtual schools were in jeopardy of being shut down. The Coalition led the efforts to save our schools. We worked hard. We won.

Our 2015 #ITrustParents Capitol Day will be held

Capitol Day provides Coalition members with tremendous opportunities. The day is equal parts networking, workshops and pep rally. It's not only our largest in-person show of force of the year, it's a chance for students to meet some of their classmates and their peers in other schools. Parents, teachers and students receive updates on what's happening in Madison, meet with legislators and legislative staff, and are trained in effective grassroots activism. It's a can't miss event!
